Cricket for Kids

Youth has the future, especially at Punjab Cricket Club!

Punjab Cricket Club Rotterdam offers a thriving youth cricket program for boys and girls. With weekly training and weekend matches, qualified coaches provide guidance, skills, and fun. Parents, players, and coaches work together to create a supportive environment where young talents can grow and enjoy the game of cricket.

Youth Cricket at Punjab

Punjab Cricket Club Rotterdam has a thriving and fast-growing youth department. Our young stars train every Wednesday and play their matches on Saturdays and Sundays. Boys and girls of all ages are warmly welcomed and receive intensive supervision and coaching from our qualified trainers.

At Punjab, youth cricket means a lot of learning, a lot of playing, and above all a lot of fun. Training sessions focus on developing essential skills and teamwork, while match days provide the excitement of real competition. Players from our senior teams are regularly involved in guiding and supporting the juniors, ensuring that young cricketers learn directly from experienced role models. As with any sport, the involvement of parents is equally important; helping with transport, scoring, and umpiring so that everything runs smoothly.

Each youth team has a parent acting as team manager, ensuring the organization around matches and training is well taken care of. This allows the coaches to focus fully on developing cricket skills. For players who want to take their game further, our coaches are available for additional one-to-one training. Match scoring is often managed digitally, with parents and volunteers using their phones or tablets to keep track of the game in real time.

Punjab Cricket Club Rotterdam follows a consistent youth policy designed to help young players reach their full potential. Since the relaunch of our youth department in 2017, we have welcomed many enthusiastic new members. This growth has been remarkable, and by 2021 the youth section had already grown to almost 60 members. Our ambition is to continue building on this foundation, nurturing the next generation of cricket talent in Rotterdam.

Youth Funds Sports & Culture

All children can participate in Rotterdam! Children will learn an awful lot by playing together or by doing sports together. But paying for a club naturally isn’t easy for everyone. For example, would your child like to join a football club? Or perhaps have a go at gymnastics, scouting, ballet, or music lessons? Then the Rotterdam Sports & Culture Youth Fund can help. This fund will pay the sports or culture club fees for children aged 0 to 18.

The Youth Fund Sports & Culture provides sports opportunities to children and young people from families where there is not enough money to become a member of a sports association. For those children, Youth Fund Sports & Culture pays the contribution up to a maximum of € 280 per child.

Are there several children in the family who want to do sports? That is allowed! There is also the Youth Culture Fund for those children! For more information or details please go to the Jeugdfonds Sport & Culture website.
